when i tried the template erased my doubled

i cannot fully justify the text
i can align left or right or center

Bok appears to mock the Old testament, or pseudo-old testament (as with MOrmOns), or is it monkery. Amusing piffle, regardless--sort of reminds me of Bierce's bon mot on Christian: "one who believes that the New Testament is a divinely inspired book, admirably suited to the spiritual needs of one's neighbor."
Then, many humans still swear by that ancient, anachronistic levitical code (protestants included). Indeed the usual biblethumper resorts to dogma ala the OT during trials and tribulations, certainly not reason or science--most of the hick preachers where I currently reside (east LA County) often sound as jewish as the rabbis. i've discerned that bok is "remaking" the sonnet
originally the sonnet was understood to convey a "sound"
i think all of his eunoixa are 13 lines 1 short of a sonnet
he comes up with something interesting
christians have never stopped reading and listening to leviticus if only for a historical reminder of the way legal systems form into life
there is a very odd occurence in christianity which holds the christian view hostage in the OT
some christians are more anachronistically OT adherents than they are christians in a modern sense
good thinking seems to be something to strive for
and forms can help that

BokSpeak may be amusing and charming for a bit, but ultimately cynical and futile, like most "avant-garde" literary product. Or, that's our opinion.
You yourself would admit the "religious question" involves more complexities and subtleness than Mssr Bok's O-poem, right. I still read a religious writer like, say, Percy or Flan. O'Connor because they seem to avoid the pat generalizations-- tho' on the whole Miss O'C. had a keen eye for WASP hypocrisy and thuggishness for what it is--yet she also skewered cafeteria catholics, or shall we say Scalia-catholic phonies. (yet she probably placed naive do-gooders like Thoreau in hell's ice rink too). What's religion without ...Death, jh
Stranger in a bar once came up to BOK and asked, "Are you THE Christian BOK?" He replied, no, that would be The Bible. I'm the person, Christian BoK.
I think he added that umlaut just to mess with his fellow Canucks.
Check out his 2003 book CRYSTALLOGRAPHY. It is full of brilliance AND "heart." Bok is the best poet on the North American continent. Or at least north of Havre, Montana.
