summer rain

i awoke dreaming i had dreamed
before waking and long after i awoke
i perceived the world in the manner
of dreaming when i looked out at rain

it has not changed much
one hour later i still am
more or less convinced
this is a form of dreaming

if robert pete williams has anything
to say about it this sort of loneliness
is the inescapable reality of all of us
it behooves us to sing

everything is fitting into surreal settings
i am torn upside down and thrown around
twisted tumbled and tormented
with the unspeakable beauty of the sky

you face a certain sadness when it rains
you do i do
the long drizzling splash of water
feeds the heart with tears

everyone must have cryin' in the rain days
welcome one and all to rain town

los blancos hablan "rain"; yo hablo llover, o esta lloviendo. Quien es el poetico? iQue llueva!

WASP-yokels and other gangsters hate rain, I have determined. Interferes with their NASCAR capitalism, or harley-klan-LDS rallies, beach-bimbo marketing etc.

ok i can't resist the new WV:
"demonwor"

though it sounds like
there are no demons today
that the rain tears are your friends

yes Dr. S at times jh is quite eloquent.

(inquiry: what do ...saints and nuns who can fly do in the rain?? (or could...allegedly!--including St Thomas hisself) . Some pious eyegear, perhaps. Yonder the village idiot Kirby approacheth--I shall circle over his head and startle him forthwith....bwahbwah )

i didn't realize
that there were saints
who could fly
that would be a neat trick

i suppose that's where
the flying nun tv show came from

o yeah
flying levitating saints
i see it all the time
they tend to swirl in
agitated desire for something
the world cannot give
so of course
they fly

by way of 'splainin':

I wasn't trying to derail jh's verse. scuzi. Reflections on the RCC ..."miracle-verification process" if you will, which is a bit....problematic for me. Saints, I can sort of accept---flying ones, not really. Fatima/Lourdes, etc other probs.

st joseph
what a guy
it seems only fair
that someone who was noted
as being "remarkably unclever"
would have some other gift
that was rather remarkable

The miracles/relics seem charming perhaps--to some. Good business like in Europa. And who woulda known Cupertino CA, right in the heart of of SiliconCo, was named after a real flying saint, St. Joe?

To others, not so charming, however. Perhaps it's a bit crass to point out the obvious (ie lack of evidence, etc) but ...Maria sure is stingy . A lightshow (check out Fatima), or hovering over a lake at times--she hasn't AFAIK showered gold down on the paysanos. OR even filled up their wine bottles.

at the same time, one is loathe to bless the..anti-clericalists..and reductionists...zionists. IN ways just as appalling as the catholic-bashers.

Le predicament. But even some RCC people...don't accept the traditional reading of miracles/beatification/relics, etc.
