blog directions

on the blog
what is most recent
always usurps
what is previous
the direction of cognition
is always pushing forward

today is not necessarily related
to yesterday or last month

thus one is forced to question
the cohesion of thought

on the blog it is always today

it is hard then to sustain
a conversation
(although some do)

difficult to remain focused
on a train of thought
or a piece of writing
that happened last month

rare that someone would
return to the previous blog posts

all attention is on what is
most recent

yesterday i looked over the
117 or so entries since i began
the "hobby" of blogging

interesting to trace the
movement of thought
and expression
as it rambles forth
to the most recent post

i scoped out a new blog
LUTHERAN SURREALISM

Kirby Olson
whom i met in cyber space
on Silliman's Blog
and spent some time looking
over the post history of
his thoughts

when all is said and done
the conclusion will be first

in my beginning is my end
what was first
is now the last

something in the approach
to thinking on the blog
defeats the sense of
historical depth

unless one is intent on writing a book
based on the blogs

the weblog
reverses the direction one would take
if one were simply writing a diary
in a notebook

even then
after copying out the posts
one would be forced to
collate the entries in reverse

or perhaps let the development of thought
appear with a sense of randomness

the phenomenology of blogging
has yet to be written

one aspect i do find rather fascinating
is the possiblity of having
rather in-depth discussion
with people one does not know
and perhaps will never meet

time for lunch and then
siesta!!!!
